School Of Hard Knox

It's not only your nails that grow stronger when you drink this. Apparently you also grow quite a pelt. It's the drink that really puts hair on your chest!

In 90 days she will not only have fingernails made of Teflon, she'll also be living in Tibet as a yak.

Now that's a kicky drink!

My mom was a believer in Know for the nails. She convinced me to try it for a while. The only thing I noticed was that my intestines became vulcanized!

Hmmm...are vulcanized intestines a good thing, or a bad thing? It probably depends on who you ask, I reckon. I need to look up that word. It sounds like a quality a super-hero would possess.

This lady looks pretty smug about her nails. Her jaw looks like it could crack black walnuts.

You know what's funny? That collar is so over-the-top I'm sure it's coming back in style. There are probably a few in Etsy shops right now.

If Knox is good for nails, I'd rather use that as an excuse to eat lots of Jell-O. MMMMM. Drinking gelatin? EWWWW.

My parents were high on the Knox gelatin thing too. :p

Whoo, drinking gelatin? Bleck.

Didn't the Olympic synchronized swimmers used to use Knox gelatin to keep their hair-dos in place? Wow, that stuff is versatile!

I remember trying the Knox for nails things as a kid and it didn't work. Maybe because I didn't have a wacked out collar on my dress?

I think I see a theme developing for this week.
Mincemeat cake, ewww.
Marshmallow fluff on baked apples, eewwwwww
and now drinking unflavored gelatin, eeeewwwwwwwwwwwwww!!!!! What were they thinking back then?
Dare I speculate what culinary atrocities you have for us tomorrow? :)

That's kind of scary - beans looking like animals! ;-)

I made my Dad buy me a box of the orange flavor Knox when I was about 10. It was absolutely revolting!

This was a popular topic!

I found a lot of good magazines this week, many from the 60s and 70s - and that I actually remember!

This Knox one is like a lot of the ones I remember, though i think if I'd seen it back then I'd, um, recall it. That lady is one tough monkey, isn't she? Even without the Knox!
