For the Arsonist Who Has Everything

It's so hard to know what to get that arsonist on your Christmas list, isn't it? Or even just people who like to live dangerously. They're tough to shop for.

Well, here is the Combination Cigarette Case and Lighter with Amazing Magic Action! It is "beautifully packaged and guaranteed." Guaranteed to cause accidents and at least minor damages, that is.

"Attracts attention wherever used." I'll bet it does, too. Especially from the local Fire Department.

From Billboard, that cornucopia of weird cheapo things, January 10, 1948. And it was made in Chicago, where so many wonderfully strange things were made, way back when.

Oh my. It lights when you close the case which yeah, scary. I imagine there were many misfires here... shirts and pants on fire.

Never seen this one either! You know its really scary how many weird products there were!

Strikes me as one of those wacky ideas someone tossed out at a round table, at which everyone laughed, but then someone said "well, wait, what it?" Next thin you know, poof the perfect camp fire starter....errrr, lighter/cig case combo was born.

Wishing you a fantastic weekend, my dear!

Not only would it attract attention, but it would instill envy in those who saw you use it, I'll bet. :)

Almost makes you want to take up smoking, doesn't it. If for nothing else but to show off that "magic action". :)

Leeuna - It would be kind of fun to startle people with it ;)

The Crazy Suburban Mom is right! Since it lights when you close the case, how could anybody carry it???

Hairball - If only the manufacturer had thought of this! lol

I love the phrase "fully automatic". As opposed to "partially automatic" or "not at all automatic"...

Also fab is the way these ads always say their product performs "as if by magic"... even though during this time in the ad industry, the whole world was supposed to be church-going white people who thought "magic" was straight from Satan's lair. I guess "magic" was okay as long as they were lying through their teeth about it! 8-)
